Buying a new mattress is an important investment in your well-being and sleeping comfort. After deciding on the right mattress, an equally important phase begins: the adjustment and familiarization phase.

In this article, we explain why this phase is so important, how long it can take and give you helpful tips to make the transition as pleasant as possible.

1. acclimatization phase necessary: The body must adapt to the new mattress, even if it offers better support and comfort.

2. duration: acclimatization can take 2 to 4 weeks, in some cases up to 3 months.

3. 100 nights trial sleep: AM Quality Mattresses offers 100 nights trial sleep to test the mattress risk-free. If you are not satisfied, you can return the mattress without any problems.

4. tips for the acclimatization phase: be patient, maintain your sleeping habits, air the mattress regularly, adjust the room temperature and possibly change pillows for an optimal sleeping position.

Objective 5: With the right adjustment, optimum sleeping comfort is achieved in the long term.

Our bodies are amazingly adaptable and get used to certain sleeping surfaces over time. Even if your old mattress was worn out and uncomfortable, your body has adapted to these conditions.

A new mattress that offers optimum support and comfort is therefore a change to which your body must first adjust.

During the first few nights on your new mattress, you may feel a little uncomfortable or your sleep may feel different from what you are used to.

The duration of the acclimatization phase varies from person to person. As a rule, it can take between two and four weeks for your body to become fully accustomed to the new mattress. In some cases, it can also take up to three months.
