Our fitted sheets are soft, breathable and durable - provided they are cared for properly. Here we show you step by step how to clean your sheet optimally and keep it in shape.
1. washing - hygienic but gentle
Temperature:
- As a rule at 60 °C washable - ideal for hygienic cleaning
- For sensitive skin or allergies: regularly at 60 °C wash
- Dark colors at 40 °C if necessaryto avoid fading
Detergent:
- Color detergent for colored sheets, heavy duty detergent for white
- No fabric softenerif breathability is to be maintained
Tip:
Wash before first use - removes production residues and improves the fit.
2. spinning - moderate
- 1,000-1,200 rpm are sufficient
- This ensures that the sheet drains well without wearing out
3. drying - air or machine drying
In the dryer:
- Possible at low to medium temperature (gentle program)
- Not too hot - otherwise the sheet may shrink or become rough
Air drying:
- Hang up or spread out flat
- Preferably not in the blazing sunas colors can fade
4. ironing - only if necessary
- Cotton is iron-proof - so iron on a high setting if necessary
- Fitted sheets often become smooth when pulled open anyway - ironing is usually not necessary
5. storage - clean & dry
- Do not fold until completely dry
- Air-permeable Store - e.g. in a cupboard, not in plastic crates
Iron-on edge - what is it?
A visible edge, usually in the middle of the new fitted sheet, is not a quality defect, but quite normal. Here we explain why:
Created during production & packaging: During production, the fabric is folded by machine. This creates sharp creases - just like on shirts or T-shirts in the store
The edge disappears by itself after the first wash
- No influence on quality: The crease does not affect comfort or durability. It is purely visual and temporary.
